About

SxP is a Realtime Text-based Local Multiplayer Arcade game reminiscent of Brick Out and Space Invaders. Shoot and deflect your ball against the enemies before they reach you while dodging their bullets. Collect powerups that can turn the tide and play through multiple levels with increasingly difficult enemies and unique map mechanics with a friend, or play PvP and see who lasts the longest while also dodging each other's balls!

SxP was developed as part of the first game project in Digipen with a team of 4, where I was the lead programmer and game designer, and was responsible for the architecture and implementation of most of the mechanics and systems. SxP was programmed entirely in C and is played through the Visual Studios console. All visual elements are done with ASCII characters. On top of this, I also created the music and sound design for the game and implemented the FMOD API.
